Driveway Gates Installation

Driveway Gates have three main categories:

1. Slide
2. Swing
3. Overhead

Each gate type requires a specific gate motor with specification such as max weight load to meet the demands of operation. The manufacturers such as Elite and All-O-Matic make a variety of motors to cover the range of gate types we custom-build, or those gates that are already installed at our client’s property.

Sliding Gates – Are the most common of all and are they type we recommend to our clients if the property has the space for it. They are easier to maintain and have less issues overt time. They are by far the most reliable.

Swing Gates – Such gates require very strong support especially iron gates that are very heavy. Locations with down-hill or up-hill narrow driveways, ar the common setups for a swing gate. The types of swing motors come are equipped to handle the load and needed flexibility (special arm) to open ad close swing driveway gates efficiently. Such gates are reliable but need more maintenance than a sliding gate.

Overhead Gate – Very similar to a garage door gate but the motor used for an overhead gate is much more robust and can handle many more cycles than a regular garage door opener. You will find such overhead gates in many underground parking garages in Los Angeles.

 Most models of the Electic Gate Motors come with the option for backup battery and manual operation.
